Earth Hour 2008

Last year, WWF Australia and the city of Sydney teamed up for the inaugural Earth Hour – where at 8pm all lights at participating businesses and homes were turned off for an hour. This equated to taking almost 50,000 cars off the road.

This past week Earth Hour 2008 was launched and it has expanded. More cities across the globe (including Melbourne) have joined the initiative.

I have signed us up. While I cannot guarantee I will turn off the lights at 8pm sharp, I will do so as soon as the kids are asleep and Adam and I can play board games (or do other stuff…) by candlelight.

The date is set for March 29, 2008.

Will you join too?
