I am a bit of a ‘blonde’.

Yes, I am literally a blonde, albeit with some chemical help, but we all know that’s not what I’m talking about. My friends and family will be able to attest to the fact that although I go through periods of intense concentration when they’re needed, I also can be very, very scattered.

Take yesterday, for example.

I didn’t take a picture of this, because it was too humiliating, but let me just summarise by saying that I spent a good ten minutes rummaging in the main rubbish bin outside my house, looking for the winners check from Saturday night which *somehow* (read: me putting it there) got thrown out by mistake.

I didn’t admit this little boo-boo to my husband until late last night, where which he proceeded to go and bang his forehead on the lounge-room wall for about half an hour. Sure, after, he was concussed, but he slept well.

*Karen holds out her arms to to receive the jests and barbs*

Go on – I deserve them.

Edited to add: yes, I got the cheque back, unsullied within its envelope. Hurrah! Will. Go. To. Bank. Later. Promise.
