This is a smaller pile compared to last time and a somewhat more realistic one (I hope) in terms of actually coming close to finishing. I’m gradually slogging my way through the Ballard and Doctorow*, I borrowed the Miller because I’ve always wanted to read it, Raising the Dead because it is about reanimation (think Frankenstein) and sounded interesting, and Eats Shoots and Leaves because it’s clever and you always know I’m having a personal crisis in my offline writing work when I feel I need to turn to a grammar tutorial-style-infotainment book to get me through. But more on that later.
What are you reading this week?
*Those new to Miscmum and who are pure feed readers ought to click through and see my Doctorow quote on my head banner. It’s my site ‘disclaimer’ and harks back to my Masters thesis, which was about Post-Freudian psychoanalytic literary theory and the power of narrative(s). (A little more on this here – but I’ll admit it’s a bit messily written.)
