{As you’ll see, this post is largely derived from the past week of different status updates on Twitter. Which is ironic really, as this blog was supposed to be my diary of sorts; the written chronicle of the ins-and-outs of my life. However that mantle is gradually being taken by Twitter. Is this bad? Lazy? Or neither? That’s probably a conversation for another day.}

Let’s talk about my most recent attempt to be fashionable.

The other week, I said this: “Zara Basic black bubble-skirted cocktail dress @ Savers for $20? BARGAIN. Dodgy zip? Infuriating!!! (But fixable!)”

Fixable – yes. For $50. So this ‘bargain’ was quickly becoming something a little more ‘average’. Now I am determined to get wear out of it, thanks to my highly-developed sense of spite, even if it is directed at an inanimate object.

By now I bet you’re dying to see the dress in question, aren’t you?

Well here it is:

strapless dress

(I already owned the belt)

As it happens, I do have an opportunity to wear this dress, sooner than I might have thought. Yesterday I tweeted this: “Am wondering if it’s appropriate to wear a strapless dress to my daughter’s preschool formal…”

This formal is tonight.

What do you think? Is this fine? I think I’ll wear it anyway (remember the spite!) but I’m interested to hear your comments.
