Congratulations first of all to Nerida who won the Vicks thermometer on Wednesday. She’s been reading Miscmum for a long time 🙂

Rachel Hills recently asked me to write a guest post about my experiences with children’s publishing – and here it is!

Finally, today, I sent this off to the printers:

Right now, I’m feeling all sorts of emotions: relief, mostly. And nervous expectation. It’s been a hard, hard month. This, together with Keira’s first month of school and the sadness surrounding dad’s anniversary, sometimes I’ve felt like the last pin left on the bowling alley, rocking about, just before it drops.

That said, I can’t wait until I get the galley proof in my hands, and then again the final product in a few weeks. The time between will be enough to do some more jobs that need doing, as well a chance to catch my breath. Also, and I can’t stress this enough, my designer/typesetter has been marvellously patient with me. Thanks, A x

Do you like the cover? The photograph is by the gorgeous Tiffany. You might note the juxtaposition of the computer and the pen? What does it all mean?

You’ll have to read the book (well, my Introduction) to find out …
