Riley has been bored around the house lately. Can’t say I really blame him, I have been a bit preoccupied, but that’s no excuse on my part. I did get a little of a shock last week, though, when he read out a phrase from one of Keira’s reader books from school.

How on earth did you know that? I wondered.

So I pulled out all of the preschooler books that Keira half-did at the same age and he has hungrily fallen on them. He’s even slowed – but not stopped – the ‘How come she gets to school and I don’t’ question he always asks with bewildered entitlement.

But then we get to the inevitable page where we have to number the events as they occur.

Quite the dilemma

I wondered aloud if it was the egg that came first? Riley replied well the goose had to lay the egg first, didn’t it?

{If only, on the day, I’d remembered this post! Oh well.}
