I got a lovely reminder letter the other day: please, send your MS Readathon money once it’s collected. Then I had a “Oh, poo” moment, for I’d forgotten all about entering Keira and the paperwork had been stuffed into the filing cabinet. A phone call later, I was assured I could write a donation instead, and I felt much better. Lucky I was still keeping tally from our previous VPRC reading, and so let us say the above books were read for both?

Thank you for assuaging my guilt.

In terms of talking about the stories themselves, I can’t not mention Melanie Watt’s Chester series. Chester’s Masterpiece (a new release, not above) is currently being fought over nearly every bed time. Both kids adore it. I didn’t have the joy of experiencing Where the Wild Things Are as a child, so it was a real treat to be able to discover it at the same time as Keira.

Our local library is re-opening today after three months of renovations. I’ve been told there are lots of new children’s books. It’s very exciting!
