Some thoughts/points:

1) The shot of Riley is to show he has no shame in sitting down in the middle of a bookstore to read if the mood takes him.
2) After I finished Imperial Bedrooms I had a dream I was having a conversation with someone where I was saying that Imperial Bedrooms reminded me of Janette Turner Hospital’s Borderline. Then I woke up and thought, huh, well… yes, in some ways. In the days since I’ve been preoccupied with why, exactly. Lucky I’ve got Borderline on the shelf, I’ll pull it down at some point to re-read.
3) None of these have been read on the Kindle. Hmm… that says something, doesn’t it?
