A cartoon me! How lovely!

I’m up for the Aussie Mummy Bloggers with X-Factor Award at Home Loan Daily. If you could follow the link and share my page on Twitter or Facebook, I would be most grateful. I think I’m coming last, but I’m not game to check. These competitions unnerve me, frankly.

Example: I was nominated in the Circle of Moms Top 25 Funny Moms and was too shy to say anything or promote it. I somehow still managed to pull in 18 votes (thank you, mysterious voters!)(and, hey, people I think I’m funny. SEE, I’M NOT ALWAYS MISANTHROPIC!)

Also, I’m up for one of these in the writing category (I think):

And heck, because I’m going the whole hog here (ha! see the paint fumes are getting to me and I’m speaking in piggy metaphors) I’m just going to say: I created a Facebook page for Miscellaneous Mum the week that function opened but I never made it public because, to repeat myself, I find self-promotion unsettling and tricky. Some do it right, some don’t. I get irritated at many invitations to ‘like’ something and don’t really want to impose myself upon others the same way, so I quietly put it up in my sidebar about five weeks ago (and the Google Friend one around the time of the Conference). In that time I must admit it’s been nice to see faces pop up and be a friendly reminder of support. Perhaps I should’ve done it ages ago. Thank you, those of you who’ll know who you are x

I’m also thinking about the future, too. I may delete my personal account to only use the blog one.

(I’m sorry, I have to admit that the rules of etiquette and reciprocation on Facebook confuse me.)

Anyway, so you know. Feed readers who never click through, I’m looking at you 😉

Have a lovely weekend x

p.s Happy first birthday to Miscellaneous Voices: Australian Blog Writing #1.
