So I was going to post another picture of today’s state of the kitchen and juxtapose that with yesterday’s shot, but do you know what? I DON’T HAVE TO BECAUSE IT LOOKS THE SAME (minus the bottle of rum, granted).

A word in defense, however, is that today’s mess was brought to us by the good old Sunday tradition of Karen Freaking the Freak Out About What To Cook For Dinner and General Baking Necessities For The School Lunchbox Grind and The General Week Ahead And What That’s Got In Store For Us getting organised. In a flurry of chopping and stirring, there’s now a vindaloo bubbling away in the slow cooker, these muffins done and sealed away in tupperware (pretty much the only muffin recipe I use now, it’s extremely reliable) and a pineapple cut up and stored in the fridge for snacking.

While I’m here I should add a few things that have been happening elsewhere:

This week is going to be quite frantic (hence my strikethrough-ed inner dialogue above). Along with work, I need to have an MRI (I was going to blog about it once I’d found a way to make it teh funneh, so let’s call this a ‘Stay Tuned: Karen in a hospital gown. Don’t miss it!’), PLUS it’s the Digital Parents Conference on Friday, which I’ll be speaking at.

PLUS I’ll be announcing something very cool, but I can’t give it away yet.

Phew! And there we have it. A book, a bath and a … cup of tea… might be in order.

Picture taken in 2010 and posted here but it is as relevant now as then: years may come and go, but messes stay the same.
