Have you been eating chocolate today?

Have you a child who is both listless and irritable from the excitement leading up to this morning, and also strung out from excessive sugar levels?

Or perhaps you might have another child who has caught on to the reprimanding phrases of adults who, in reaction to the moaning and bellyaching (literally) of the above child, says very loudly in turn, ‘You are ruining Easter for the rest of us!’

If you’ve answered yes to all three questions, welcome to my world! Are you drinking? I should be.

It’s been a great Easter, regardless. That said, when I was young, it was one of my favourite times of year to catch up and play with all my many cousins (I’m Catholic, remember? Well, formerly Catholic. Well, it’s a long story…) and for some reason I’m feeling particularly sentimental and melancholy today because I’ve not seen them – or been home – in quite a long time.

I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend. xx
