(Note: the windows normally get that foggy when the weather turns cold. Don’t think they’re like that due to … ah … amorous activity. Not THIS day anyway, ha!)

Wall Colour: Hog Bristle (same as in our lounge room, and what we did in hallway)
Skirting: Banister White.

When we bought that infamous wall decal we also let the kids pick a small one for themselves for their bedrooms. Keira’s, as you see above, is an elephant that has the caption ‘STRENGTH’ underneath; Riley chose mice. I don’t know why. Possibly to irritate me, given I really hate rodents. But these ones are okay.

On to the next step: window coverings! And then we will be finished!

Note: Here’s a little story about customer care. We have an old Dyson vacuum cleaner, but I never used it on our floorboards because the ‘hard floor’ setting on the head would always leave a rubbery trail behind it, marking the wood and making it look dirtier. Dyson were exhibitors at a blogging event I attended recently and I went over to talk to a representative about what I might be able to do to get around the problem, like buy a separate nozzle or something. I wanted a solution seeing as our house was about to be (practically) all hard floors. Turns out our experience wasn’t an unusual one and the woman suggested I get in contact with Dyson directly and gave me an email address. A phone conversation later and skip forward to last week and we had a new Dyson on our doorstep to try. This one, I am supremely happy to report, doesn’t leave any marks at all on the floor and the sucking power on the carpet section (we do still have rugs etc) is terrific. I wasn’t paid to say this, and I have the option to return the machine if I want. I appreciate the reach out, Dyson!
