Over half a million words.

This blog has come a long way.

But I feel that it could go even further.

Now the celebrations of the eighth birthday party have passed (the Xenomorphs took some chasing off!), I want to go in to detail about ‘what happens next’ and ‘where to now’? If I’m honest, a small part of me feels like things could go on quite easily as they have been. And therein lies part of the conundrum – things are easy (well, easy-ish). I don’t feel like I’ve tasked myself enough, or given back as much as I can to the writing/artistic/creative community. In my workshops, I guide people through the introductory phases of blogging (and in some cases writing). I’ve wondered if I should do the same here.

The Creative Life

What exactly am I saying? First, I will showcase work from artists in a new series called ‘The Creative Life’. Also, as I hinted in an earlier post, I hope to do more videos. I’m going to be focusing on ticking off more of my ‘Living List’ goals.

Bottom line – anything that be drawn in under the new tagline of the blog, ‘living – learning – creating’, will be my priority. Will this mean I will be talking about the family less? No, about the same. But hopefully better.

Before I implement any changes, be they drastic or small, I do first want to ask your opinion. I love and value what readers have to say. It’s been over a year since I’ve done a survey and I’ve put together another one. It’s very short and if you take the time to complete it I would be most grateful. For those of you who leave your details you will go in the running to win a complete three-book pack (Crying in the Car, Surprise!, Miscellaneous Voices: Australian Blog Writing).

Any thoughts or suggestions, as ever, are most welcome.
