Do you ever sit down on a Monday morning to have a chat with a friend or write a blog post – such as this – and think back to the weekend that was and wonder to yourself, “Hang on, what did we do again?”
That’s how I feel about Saturday. Not a Saturday, six months ago; two days ago. Trawling back through my memory I remember it was a lovely day… we walked to the library… oh, that’s right we watched the new Captain America movie on DVD (yawn)… and that’s about it (if you don’t include my regular, shouty “Let’s get this house clean!” rant).
But what Saturday lacked in excitement was more than compensated for yesterday. I was up early on a rainy, but lovely and mild, day to head in to the Melbourne Writers Festival seminar I was doing with Clint and Kate. An intimate, but lovely, group were there to listen to us talk about blogging. Here’s some quotes:

Blogging can be used as a cheap form of therapy or way of sharing stories that can help someone else – @Miscmum at #mwf14 — Writers Victoria (@Writers_Vic) August 24, 2014
(Sometimes speaking can be a bit of an out-of-body experience – I look back at tweets afterwards and think ‘Did I say that?!’ But I remember all of those – especially the first. Seriously, people do worry too much.)
Anyway!
A quick bite to eat, a wander around Federation Square, and then we were off to the football. The last time I caught a live game of football Wayne Carey was still playing. Yep, it’s been a while. It was the first game for the kids. They were delighted.
It was the Sydney Swans versus Western Bulldogs and our team – the Swans – walked away with it, so towards the end of the game I thought it would be funny if I pulled out my book and pretended to read.
Boy, the weird looks I got. It was like I committed some sort of sacrilege!
And now another week beckons!
How was your weekend?
