Friday was the final day of my #miscpoetry project when the last poem was posted to Instagram and Facebook. In case you’re not aware of what the project was, it project began back mid-July as a way of injecting some creativity into not only my writing processes, but the way I use social media. I wanted to explore the nice feelings that arise out of sharing something you made – for free, at that, and with no expectation of returns or anything really ‘measurable’. Nothing bores me more than a social media account that you can tell has switched to ‘auto-pilot’, and I didn’t want to be guilty of it either.

I made these cards myself (you can tell their ‘homespun’ quality in a few because I smeared the glue!). I recently learned of an app called Wordswag, and had I known about it earlier might have created these in that. Or not. There’s something about the process of finding photos or pictures in magazines, cutting the, out, making collages, adding your own influences that’s more rewarding. It certainly makes them extra special, and become physical relics of the time.

Here they are, in no particular order. Hope you like them.

What do you think? Were you following along with the #miscpoetry project? Should I do it again?

diaphanous light

giving the sea a mate

battered vault

you are not so kind

what is a poem

smear the future

shuddering silence

reality tapestry

pixelated flower

monsters live

linear and ordered

I love you

eyes landing

bruise the flesh

blooming canopy

barefoot on the green

a world beyond glass

You’re doing #nanowrimoprompt, right?
