sydney

I’m heading off to Sydney this afternoon to teach at the NSW Writers’ Centre tomorrow. It’s always nice to get back home (part of me will always call it that, no matter how long I live in Melbourne) and I hope to get down and spend some time harbour-side. I miss it. I can usually count on it being warmer as well, so that’s another BIG plus in my book!

What else am I celebrating this week?

  • The #julycreativechallenge is almost over. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed doing it. But a break will be nice.
  • I knocked an item off my blog ‘to-do list’ – update my free ebook for newsletter subscribers with a new cover and a few internal tweaks. If you look on my sidebar, you’ll see it. Much better, don’t you think?
  • The Muppets are back!

  •

  • So is James Bond! Although, based on the trailer, I have my reservations. The dialogue is pretty…pedestrian. Standard for the brand, but call me greedy if I’m after a bit more. But Christoph Waltz has excellent villain potential.

  •

  • The movie Freeheld, with Julianne Moore and Ellen Page is getting lots of buzz and you can see why from this trailer. I was crying by the end.

What are you celebrating this week?
