This year-long Friday celebrations series is my way of documenting the good things that have passed my way during the week and being mindful of these, and more.

Friday Celebrations (2)

Riley was telling me at school this week, or perhaps last week (he can be pretty vague on details sometimes), they had a lesson in which the kids were coached on how they could be better friends to each other. I’m sure there was a higher, pedagogical foundation to the class – remember this is hearsay – but he said something that made me laugh.

“They reminded us that it’s the end of winter and we’re all cold and tired, so let’s try to be less cross with one another.”

I thought, wow, that’s a lesson us adults could do with some time to time!

It’s amazing what the increase in just a couple of degrees, and decent bursts of sunshine can do to your mood. Melbourne has had a some lovely days and I get snap-happy when I’m outside. I took the above photo of just an ordinary pale fence in our neighbourhood with the lovely green contrast. So cheery.

I’ve been really busy this week working on the next big project. I’ll do a proper post on it soon, but if you want a sneak peek (and I notice some of you already have!) you’ll be able to see what I’m talking about in my blog sidebar. If you’re reading through the feeds, you’ll have to wait a little longer – that is, if curiosity doesn’t get the better of you first. Hee.

I’m not going to do a big link around this week, but I do want to embed this video that is doing the rounds on social media. I found it quite moving and says a lot how the meaning of something can be altered to an equally powerful effect. That is what artistry can do; that is its talent and gift.

What are you celebrating this week?
