This year-long Friday celebrations series is my way of documenting the good things that have passed my way during the week and being mindful of these, and more.
In an effort to economise, I try to stretch out my regular hairdresser re-colour trips as much as possible. I think that’s one of the main reasons why I really love those five or so minutes when I’m in the rinse-off chair getting a deep head massage as all that gunk gets washed out. Mmmmm. I’ve just come from such an appointment and I’m feeling nice and relaxed and ready to tackle the rest of the day’s work that’s awaiting.
Before that happens, I’ll jump on some other things I’m celebrating this week.
- The launch of My Creative Process ecourse! Don’t forget that big early bird discount!
- Here’s an early review for a book I’m looking forward to, Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear.
- I’m not sure if you’ve ever wondered, but here is Every Single Movie That Jimmy Carter Watched at the White House.
- I recommend the Kill Your Darlings podcast about the state of the national arts funding at the moment.
- On Buzzfeed, here are 11 Charts That Perfectly Sum Up Being a Writer. Number 10 is pretty spot on.
- And here are 21 Signs that Prove that Booksellers are the Best.
- A final celebration, on behalf of the kids: it’s school holidays as of this afternoon. And aren’t they pleased! (I am too, if I’m honest.)
What are you celebrating this week?
