Hello, normal life! Blink and it’s Friday again!
Okay, so the celebrations hiatus is over and with just a few more weeks to go let’s get into it.
What am I celebrating this week?
- Routine. The kids were very keen to get back to school and their regular extra-curricular activities, and I had a lot of work to tackle. Sometimes you need a reminder of how nice these daily, domestic patterns can be; sometimes it takes a holiday to appreciate them!
- State of (somewhat) unplugging. Relying on WiFi overseas for internet access made me realise how much I rely on accessing the internet in general, specifically if I’m bored or feeling the tiniest bit idle. I had to be careful to conserve what WiFi we had in the campervan (and even then I went over the limit) and after coming home and doing a quick catch up I discovered I didn’t miss a whole lot.I am still way behind in my blog reading – for some reason, the Feedly app has logged me out and I can’t log back in (whatever way I try). Instead of fixing this, I might leave it. I can still access it on the PC – weird, huh – so that’ll do.
- I’ll finally get a chance on the weekend to read my contributor copy of Poetry and Place Anthology 2015. If you click through to Amazon to see who else is in it, you can see why I’m buzzed to be listed among the names. And while you’re there, get a copy!
- The course details for my blogging workshop at the NSW Writers’ Centre in November is now online. The July one I’m teaching for Writers Victoria will go live next week. Stay tuned.
- And last, if you’re after a laugh, I recommend the YouTube channel I discovered this week – AwakenwithJP. The screengrab image came from his video ‘How to Become Gluten Intolerant‘ (don’t be offended if you are gluten intolerant – once you watch it you’ll understand). Another favourite of mine is ‘Using Essential Oils‘. I have my diffuser burning right now. Geranium and lavender. Mmmm….
