Friday Celebrations

Today I celebrate… the Australian arts and literary community.

Today is the National Day of Action.

I will be attending several events in the city over the coming days, learning, connecting and catching up with friends. (Including the Emerging Writers’ Festival National Conference – come say hi!) Artists are participating in many different ways. If you don’t consider yourself a writer or artist, but want to help, I’m sure you can.

Spread the word about your favourite works.
Sign this petition.
Write a letter, post, update or tweet to people you admire. Tell them why you value their work.
Buy their books/art, if you can afford it.
Show a Patreon or crowdfunding project some love.
Ask if you can help in other ways!
Watch the National Arts Election Debate that was held in Melbourne last week.

I’ll report back soon. Have a lovely weekend.
