A detailed, compelling argument against the government setting up a commission to investigate the current Copyright Act, specifically to revise the existing ’30 day rule’. I’m not trumpeting this subject just as a small publisher either (and even then it doesn’t really enter my life – yet). But if you are a book reader in this country, and if the 30 day rule is abolished, how book rights are bought or sold could change drastically. You might think this has nothing to do to you – but it does for local authors: and they’re the ones who’re writing your favourite books.

I’ve been trying to get back into writing this week. So far, I’m sketching in the details for another short story which came to me pretty suddenly one day, synopsised in a single sentence. I’m pretty excited about it, actually. It might get somewhere. So on my ‘links day’ post, I might also post my word count for the week – to keep me honest, if nothing else, about how far I’m getting in a piece.
