It is entirely in nature with the happenstance and at times distracted nature of this blog that sometimes I finish a year, look back and think, “Wow. I don’t think I actually said anything of worth or depth. I record then move along.” Then when I do sit down and make myself write something that might apply to someone else going through the same issues – particularly when it’s to do with anything kid related – I don’t often finish my stories. We could be going through a bad patch, I sook about it here, and then I let it go.

Our lives are narratives (see my quote on my fence header. It’s been there awhile) and our blogs are our chance to document and these for comedic or dramatic purposes. Like life, our blogs contract or expand according to the willingness to which we devote to its motives, or goals. I deeply believe that they, like journals, have the potential to heal or at least underline to ourselves what matters and what doesn’t in life.

So next week from Monday 2nd February – Saturday 7th February I’m having a ‘Finish My Stories’ week: where I round up any ‘loose ends’ from last year, or even before, to bring you up to date on anything that was once So. Very. Important but time has eased or fixed. Or to finally confess secrets I’ve been too embarrassed to admit (that’s more me).

Maybe you’d like to join in? Tell me. Perhaps your new readers might like to get more of a backstory into your personality, or have a laugh. Or cry. We’ll see.
