Following on from yesterday’s post about the love my husband and I share and (apparently) are so happy to share with the world, let me show you how my husband really expresses his love:
He names his new World of Warcraft character after you. Although he swears he hasn’t, I mean, come on, buddy. It’s blatantly obvious. It ends in ‘-aren’.
{Don’t ask why he begins all his characters with the word ‘zug’ – it’s old university tradition, and by ‘tradition’ I mean ‘ritual’ or maybe even ‘compulsion’ or ‘superstition’.}
I’ve bitten my tongue so far about his even wanting to have a Death Knight character because isn’t it a bit like cheating? Aren’t you supposed to build your character from nothing?! To have life or death experiences and become stronger for them? Won’t that make you a much more rounded gamer? How’s going to start at Level 55 going to help if you’re a newb? These are questions I ask myself as I fall asleep at night…
I jest, and yet I occasionally like to play. There’s my little lady there. Deathdealler. Oh yea, what a name. I bet you wish you had it. On another server I have a character named ‘Slytherin’ and boy, people always come up to me and say, “Cool name!” and then do a little dance with me. And sometimes I dance back. To show a little love.
World of Warcraft, people. It brings in the love from unexpected places.
I just wish that as “Zugaren” I looked a little prettier.
