Last night I went into the city to the program launch of the Emerging Writers’ Festival and I have the immense pleasure to be able to tell you now that I will be hosting the below session.
Here are the details:
The Revolution Will Be Downloaded
Saturday 30th May, 3pm
Yarra Room, Melbourne Town Hall
In this age of electronic enlightenment there are so many ways for writers to get their work read, as well as promoting themselves as a writer. We look at new ways of getting your words out, as well as at how the electronic world could work in getting your traditional work read more.
The four panellists include: James Stuart of The Homeless Gods, Rachel Hills of The Musings of an Inappropriate Woman, Angela Meyer of Literary Minded and Darren Rowse* of Problogger.
(*I need to mention here that Darren is now unable to attend and his replacement will be announced shortly.)
This panel – and indeed the whole festival – is an incredible opportunity for both writers and bloggers to learn more about how we can negotiate the spaces in which we work for greater artistic growth and exposure. It’s also a great time to meet up with like-minded souls who love words and stories.
If you’re able to come, I would love to meet you (if I haven’t already!) It’s also an extremely affordable event, unlike some others out there. A weekend pass is only $37.50 ($27.50 for concession holders). A day pass is $27.50 ($17.50). The rest of the program will be available online within a matter of days I think sometime today (24th). Keep checking and see what other great sessions are being run. I will be making every attempt to see as many as possible, as a few of my friends are also involved.
Thoughts? Opinions? Squeals of excitement? Leave them in the comments!
