This year-long Friday celebrations series is my way of documenting the good things that have passed my way during the week and being mindful of these, and more.

  • Keira was invested into Scouts. (More badges for me to sew! Yippee!)
  • Speaking of Keira, she has begun to read these:

'Point' Scholastic teen horrors
Well, not exactly, because these are still at my mum’s house, but what remains of Adam’s collection, and various titles we’ve found over the years of the Scholastic Point Horror, are here and Keira has taken a liking to the series. This pleases me greatly.

  • This supercut of 280 films to make the song Uptown Funk is quite spectacular.
  • It’s been the week of new movie trailers. The first being Deadpool. (Note: this is the adult version.)

I don’t know… people say we’ve reached peak zombie in our culture – I’d argue we’ve reached peak superheroes.

  • And because I’m such a child of the 90s, I giggled at the Zoolander 2 teaser.

  • Over at io9, I discovered David Lynch’s 1968 short film The Alphabet. Weird, dark and hypnotic – and something I will not be showing Riley. Because nightmares.

  • Last, Buzzfeed asks Who Was Your First Literary Crush?. I’m really stumped to think of an answer because I had so many and it’s hard to remember where they fell in my timeline. I want to say something lofty and cerebral like Mr Rochester, but that was high school and I definitely had crushes as early as primary school. Leave it with me. Who was yours?
