This year-long Friday celebrations series is my way of documenting the good things that have passed my way during the week and being mindful of these, and more.

Friday Celebrations (5)

As I write this I have a glass of bubbles by my side and I can hear the wet gurgles of the dishwasher as it churns through an eco cycle. I didn’t pack or put it on either, so that’s another plus in my book. I’ve literally stepped through the door from a big day out and come here to post. Life’s been like that lately. You can probably tell as it’s been a week since my last check-in.

I’m not going to apologise for my absence because it displays a level of solipsism that I know that pisses people off when they see it on blogs (“Like I’m hanging around, waiting for you to come back. Come on.”). But, to be honest, the lack of time for this habitual routine does feel like a loss. It’s a balance I hope – nay, will – claw back soon. Never fear. I might even start by taking better photographs than the one you see above, but that is there for a reason.

Before I go further, I will add that the time for the earlybird rate for My Creative Process is coming to an end in two days. Registrations will be open until the end of the month, but I don’t want anyone to miss out on a cheaper rate if at all possible.

What I’m Celebrating this Week:

  1. I bought that yearly planner from kikki.K for $24.95 (or thereabouts). It’s a whiteboard too, so that’ll be good to help erase the marks of certain world domination plans that  can go askew. Joking (sorta). Without any other hooks in the house suitable, I’ve hung it on the bedroom wall on my side of the bed for the moment. I initially wondered if this would cause anxiety; lying there, would I stare at that thing and feel overwhelmed by possibility? Or self-set expectations? Nothing as yet – probably because my mind feels that 2016 is still a mile off. Not true, but don’t tell my mind that.
  2. I got to hang out in a bookshop today and that’s always lots of fun. Plus I bought a couple – even better.
  3. The weekend stretches out before us and we have no significant plans to worry about. Relaxing bliss!
  4. I did a 5km in a respectable amount of time and I haven’t been too sore.
  5. My FitBit Force kept falling off my wrist (so annoying) and right when I was about to fork out money for a new one Adam suggested I go on to eBay to just get a replacement metal clasp. As it was only $4.50 I thought sure, okay, it won’t work, but I won’t cry for being out of pocket if it doesn’t. Well. I’ve been eating my words ever since. It’s arrived and has worked perfectly and I’ve saved myself over a hundred dollars.

What are you celebrating this week?
