Striking a pose

This photo pretty much sums up for me what Term 1 has been like for Keira at school. She’s finding her way, growing into herself, and finding confidence: it’s her Beyonce Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) stance.

I was fully braced for the long-haul necessity of walking her into class every day, with tears and wailing, but it never happened. True, I must stand next to her in the morning lineup until her teacher arrives, while most other parents wait by the fence, but that’s okay. I don’t mind. No, the trickier time to manage (as I unwittingly discovered) is when I go into the classroom during hours to assist, but I’ll work my way through that somehow.

Reading is going well, her maths is possibly even better, and I’m very pleased all-round.

Now if she and Riley would stop teasing and pestering each other during the holidays … that would be nice!
