I wasn’t going to post today, but ever since watching Q & A last night, I have a little something to say. There was a lot of discussion about the role of feminism in our society, and what it means to be a feminist. There was specific reference to the absence of high-ranking women in the finance sector. I then got to thinking about my mother who was on the board of directors for a credit union for over twenty years (and chairman for three). I remember a lot of nights she was out at meetings, paperwork being constantly left on our doorstep, phonecalls, and the visits to the bank where my sister and I would doodle on the deposit slips, making up fantastic amounts of money we wish we had, while we waited for her to finish. And last night? I was so proud of her achievements. I always had been, but I guess it hit home then.
And below, for International Women’s Day.
