I am nursing a slight hangover, so indulge me dear Internet, keep me here in my little nook to tippity-tap away on the keys, anything so I can escape my darlings for just a while.

Thanks!

To show I am nothing if not consistent, my tooth is still causing issues. I went back last Friday to have the filling filed back to correct my bite, which certainly helped, but on Monday I was on the phone again, complaining. I know! I’m a sook. They assured me in soothing tones that, yes, they’re not surprised it’s still sore – and guess what? It could take weeks and weeks for the nerve to settle down!

In other words, it’s the waiting game. Historically I do not come out well in the waiting game. Like in both pregnancies. The doctors could only stand around so long with their arms crossed before giving in, saying, That’s it! Induction time!

All in all this has been a pretty busy week – just don’t ask me what we did. I’ve forgotten already. The general-everyday-hustle-and-bustle of school, preschool, after-school stuff, the after-after-school stuff, the shit-I-need-to-run-into-the-supermarket-and-get-this-one-thing deal affects my memory.

But I did go into the city yesterday for a few meetings. Between these I whiled away an hour in the utterly wonderful Look! The art of Australians picture books today exhibition (it’s only on for another few weeks, so you’ve been warned!) and wrote in the Redmond Barry Reading Room. So yesterday was a good day.

As I have been a tad preoccupied lately, I do hope to resume to some sort of up-to-standard blogging status soon. I hope you’ll forgive me if you need to wait just a smidge longer.
