I ducked into the Melbourne Writers’ Festival yesterday and looped my DSLR around my neck in the hopes of getting some nice shots. Early for my session, I spent my time wandering around the NGV Man Style exhibition (one quibble: it was quite small – I wanted more!), the Children’s Literature market, and the David and Margaret: 25 Years Talking Movies ACMI exhibition. Regarding the last, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would have. It might be just me, but for such a video-heavy exhibition I found the volume on the televisions/monitors quite soft. I had to lean in close in order to hear. Maybe I’m deaf.

Anyway, photos!

I’d love to hear if you’ve been to any sessions yet – I’m especially curious to hear about Jonathan Franzen. I would’ve loved to have been there the other night for the keynote address.
