Edited to add: Due to the craziness of this week, I’ve neglected to show the link for Kim’s latest Surprise! update. Well here it is!

******

Today is a very exciting day. Kim and I, plus my friend who will be acting as typesetter and designer of Surprise!, are all meeting up at my place to sit down to see where we’re at, and what happens next.

Kim is almost finished the preliminary sketches for Surprise!, so once we sign off on those she will take them away and start doing the final coloured artworks.

Whereas on my end, I’ve begun assembling pieces for the finer aspects of the project. The business blog for Miscellaneous Press is currently under construction; portfolio’s have begun to go out to prospective distributors (big fingers crossed for me on that front, please, okay? I’ve already had one knock-back); media releases drafted, etc.etc.

The part which will hit home most for me is that there will be four children of differing ages in attendance, running around or napping, each completely blithe about what is happening, that we’re all sitting at a kitchen table trying to create something worthwhile and good. That we’re lucky enough to be able to express this creativity in an environment that’s free and safe.

It’s a thought that’ll be going through my head, at least. That’s if I have the brain-space available. It’s kind of full in there at the moment.
