If anyone wants to know, four months of near consistent lice treatments WILL nearly destroy the condition of your child’s hair. Keira’s had gotten to the point when it would just break beneath my fingers. So I decided drastic measures had to be taken; if I cut it short, we can ‘start anew’, so to speak*. Bring it back to some sort of normalcy. Since she adores the hairdressers, she readily agreed.
*Yes, we’re lice free now. Touch wood.
I asked the hairdresser for a pixie cut.
“Uh, that’s very short.”
No, really?
“How about I keep the length at the front and keep it short at the back?”
So I said yes; which means I agreed to a reverse-mullet; a shaggy dog look which looked adorable until the next morning until Keira got out of bed with the most uncontrollable cowlicks and sticky-up hair I’d ever seen.
Plus, somehow, she’d taken on a similarity to Jane Fonda in Klute – extremely long fringe (or ‘bangs’, as some know them as) and what looks to be kind-of sideburns down the jawline.
My sister asked me to email her a photo.
Why? I asked.
Because I thought you weren’t posting photos on the blog anymore.
Well, I’m not sure that was what I was saying. I just think I might pay even more especial consideration into each picture I put up of the kids.
Like of Keira’s – there’s nothing obscene there. Except Dr Phil being on in the background. *cough*
It was on purely by accident.
Uh – yeah…
